Emma is a conduct risk and culture senior advisor with a client base comprising firms from across the financial services ecosystem - from FinTechs and RegTechs to wholesale banks and law firms. She draws her expertise from the experiences gained via a diverse range of first line industry roles.
Emma led Product Governance and Conduct at HSBC in a role that spanned Global Banking and Markets (GBM). She engaged with the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as part of its ‘5 Conduct Questions’ programme and established GBM’s Product Governance Committee.
Prior to that, whilst Deputy COO of HSBC’s Financial Institutions Group, Emma engaged with the FCA as well as external Monitor teams to meet KYC and AML file review requirements whilst HSBC was under a US Deferred Prosecution Agreement. She also led several remediation initiatives including a correspondent bank portfolio review and exit programme.
Emma has also held programme management roles (HSBC, JPMorgan Chase, Citibank, Deloitte Consulting), and led global client service (HSBC).
Having witnessed firsthand some of the conduct issues in the industry - and the detrimental impact to customers, employees, and firms - has led Emma to her passion for partnering with clients to help tackle conduct and culture issues.
