Abena’s experience spans over 10 years within the financial services sector with specialization in regulatory compliance, risk management, wealth management and capital markets. As a Senior Officer with the Financial Services Commission, she has developed policies and procedures for the FSC’s AML/CFT & PF supervisory framework of the securities, insurance and credit union sectors. She has formulated guidelines and policies to support reform to the securities and mutual fund legislation, and has also collaborated on the development of the AML/CFT &PF guidelines for Financial Institutions. She has contributed significantly on national task forces for Barbados’ Mutual Evaluation and Follow-Up Reports by CFATF and FATF as well as the IMF/World Bank’s FSAP Country Assessment. She has also been featured as a presenter and moderator locally and regionally on AML/CFT & PF, executive leadership and financial management matters.
