In 2019 and 2020, agents, officers, and analysts from most U.S. three letter agencies and dozens of local and state agencies or task forces attended 3PR’s courses taught by Bill. He has rendered answers or advice on many cryptocurrency investigations.
In 2019, Bill was directly credited by an officer that used the techniques from the course to make the original arrest and seizure in a case that was later deemed a significant cybercrime by the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security. In February 2020, two federal prosecutors and one district attorney were among attendees of 3PR’s three-day crypto course held at the Federal Building in San Francisco.
In 2019 and 2020, Bill was contracted to teach a Cybercrimes Investigations Course in Indonesia and Malaysia. An investigation that began in the course lab in December 2019 yielded numerous arrests and a significant seizure of manufactured illicit drugs in less than 60 days.
In late 2020, Bill was called upon by a former course attendee to advise in the capture and transfer of illicit crypto to law enforcement control. As of April 2021, the seized Bitcoin and Ether were valued in excess of $100,000.
As in-person, full length courses resumed in April and May 2021, Bill has already rendered help in multiple cases involving money laundering, fentanyl distribution with associated deaths and crimes against children. Bill is returning to the Bay Area in June 2021 for the Northern California HIDTA.
Bill is a regular SME presenter for the Advanced Tactical Technology Course- Touchstone, Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.
Bill also presents pragmatic aspects of Blockchain and Cryptocurrency to financial institutions and financial services personnel. Bill holds the credential of Certified Cryptocurrency Investigator (CCI) from the Blockchain Intelligence Group. Bill is a graduate of the Joint Special Operations University, Counter Threat Finance Course and Financial Intelligence Courses hosted by Analysis International.
Bill used the pandemic lockdown time to earn several certificates in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Healthcare from Stanford University Online.
