José Luis Stein is Head of Financial Crime for Mexico and Latin America at HSBC. He is also Co-coordinator of the Compliance Committee of the Mexican Bankers Association. Previously, José Luis held different responsibilities in private and public sector, including as Managing Director at K2 Integrity, Vicepresident for Supervision of Preventive Measures at the Mexican Banking and Securities Commission, Legal Counsel at the International Monetary Fund, Attaché of the Mexican Ministry of Finance in the United States, representative of the Mexican government at the Financial Action Task Force, and Associate at White & Case and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton.
José Luis holds a Law Degree from Universidad Iberoamericana and a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from Fletcher School, Tufts University. In 2017 he was the recipient of the Fletcher First Ten Award.
