Cadek, CAMS, CRCM
Jason Cadek, Vice President and Senior Auditor II within the Omaha Inspection Group at Bank of the West is a member of the internal audit function (Inspection Générale) and the BSA/AML audit team responsible for evaluation the bank’s BSA/AML, financial crimes and sanctions programs. Bank of the West (BOW) is a regional financial services company chartered in California and headquartered in San Francisco. BOW operates a network of more than 600 retail, wealth, commercial and business banking offices in 22 states, with over $75 billion in assets. BOW is a subsidiary of BNP Paribas, a French multinational bank and financial services company headquartered in Paris and present in 75 countries across the world.
Before joining Bank of the West in December 2015, Jason spent the majority of his career at First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO). Most recently Jason’s role within internal audit at FNBO included leading the annual independent test of the bank’s BSA/AML and OFAC program supported by a co-sourced audit firm along with audits and validation of issues related to consumer compliance obligations. Prior to two years spent with internal audit, Jason was part of the BSA/AML program function, primarily responsible for exam and audit coordination, in addition to enterprise BSA/AML procedures management.
Other prior positions within FNBO’s BSA/AML program function included leading a team of customer due diligence analysts and completing internal reviews of BSA/AML program elements. Before joining the BSA/AML function, Jason worked in the Private Banking and Retail business units at FNBO, starting his nearly 12 years in the financial services industry as a bank teller.
Jason earned a bachelor’s of Journalism in Advertising from the University of Nebraska after completing study abroad at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic.
Jason has been a member of the ACAMS organization since May 2012, earning his Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification in January 2013. Jason is also a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors including the local Ak-sar-ben IIA chapter. Outside his professional life, Jason is a devoted father and husband, advocate of GLBT rights and amateur gardener, genealogist and golfer.
