Robinson
Eddie Robinson is the Global Financial Crimes Risk Executive responsible for AML risk management for the Consumer, Small Business and Merchant Services (CSBB) lines of business. Eddie also leads the Global Financial Crimes Enterprise AML & Sanctions Risk Assessment program.
Eddie has spent the last ten years as an AML Officer focused on program transformations and remediation and most recently joins Bank of America from USAA where he was the Deputy AML Officer responsible for leading the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Sanctions Strategy and Transformation efforts in response to the 2022 OCC Consent order. He was also responsible for leading the Governance and Risk Management functions, to include Policy and Standards, Risk Assessments, Exam and Issues management, Training, Regulatory Change Management, Board and Management Reporting, and Financial and Operational Planning for the 1500 employee Financial Crimes Compliance unit. Eddie also served as the designated AML Officer for all non-Bank entities, to include Life Insurance, Property & Casualty, and the Broker-Dealer.
Prior to USAA, Eddie was Managing Director, Chief AML and Sanctions Officer at TIAA where he was responsible for leading the global AML and Sanctions program, which included eight programs for TIAA Bank, affiliated insurance companies, broker-dealers, and investment companies across 50 countries. Prior to this position, Eddie served as the Bank Secrecy Act and Sanctions Officer for TIAA Bank as well as Enterprise Financial Intelligence Unit Director, where he led TIAA Bank in the closure of the 2013 Consent Order and the transformation of the AML investigative function.
Earlier in his career, Eddie worked for Ally Financial where he spent the majority of his tenure managing the Global AML Investigations Unit, and later served as the Head of OFAC and Global Sanctions. He has also served as Senior Compliance Officer at Washington Mutual / JP Morgan Chase, where he led the transformation of the Quality Assurance function in response to the Washington Mutual Consent Order.
Eddie is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and currently serves as a board member of the ACAMS Carolinas Chapter. He also previously served as a plenary member of FinCEN’s BSA Advisory Group (BSAAG). He holds a B.S. from The University of Texas at San Antonio and a J.D. from St. Mary's University School of Law.
Eddie lives in Charlotte with his wife, Joye, and their rescue pup, Banks. They have two additional children, Tristan (’00) and Trace (’03). Tristan is a proud Tar Heel alumni (’22) and a third-year J.D. candidate at the University of Colorado School of Law, and Trace is a senior at the University of Tennessee.
