In our January Sanctions Watch, and the first episode of 2025, Justine and Sam are joined by Adam M. Smith, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. Adam unpacks a raft of recent developments, including sanctions implications of recent Executive Orders signed by President Trump, measures introduced by the outgoing Biden administration – including in relation to Russian energy and AI technology regulation, as well as the sanctions landscape with regards to Syria. Beyond this, the panel discussion wider sanctions developments across Russia, China, Venezuela, and Belarus.
