Andrea Viski is the founder and director of the Strategic Trade Research Institute (STRI), a board-governed non-profit organization. Dr. Viski founded the Strategic Trade Review, a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to trade and security, in 2015, and has since served as its Editor-in-Chief. She is also an Adjunct Professor at the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University where she teaches a course on strategic trade controls and co-developed a master’s certificate on strategic trade and compliance. She is also an Affiliated Expert with CRDF Global, directs the Trade & Investment Security Program at the Stimson Center, and is a Non-Resident Senior Scholar at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies.

Andrea previously worked at Project Alpha within the Department of War Studies at King’s College London, at the European Commission, and at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). Andrea holds a Ph.D. and LL.M from the European University Institute, a Master’s degree from Georgetown University’s Institute for Law, Science, and Global Security, and a Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service.
