Jacobson
Karin Jacobson, Vice President of BSA for Wintrust Financial Corporation, is responsible for the management of the BSA Currency Transaction Reporting, Enhanced Due Diligence, and Currency Exchange teams and has been a manager with the Wintrust BSA Department since November 1, 2010. She is also a Board-approved BSA Officer for three of the 15 Wintrust owned banking subsidiaries.
She has over 25 years of experience in the banking industry, and has BSA/AML experience in Operations, OFAC Sanctions, Currency Transaction Reporting, Money Service Businesses, Customer Due Diligence, and Enhanced Due Diligence. In her current role, she manages a team of 20 BSA professionals and works to continually develop, maintain and implement best practices and procedures.
Prior to her current position, Karin spent over twelve years in management of a Wintrust charter bank, Wintrust Bank (formerly known as North Shore Community Bank and Trust). During this time, Karin was an AVP of Teller Operations and AVP of Deposit Operations.
Karin became a Certified Anti-Money Specialist (Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists) in 2015. She is an ACAMS Member, ACAMS Chicago Chapter Member, ABA member, and a member of the ABA Cannabis Coalition. She was a panelist on a 2021 ACFCS webinar on KYC Challenges and Opportunities Ahead.
Outside of her professional life, Karin has volunteered for the past several years with the Jackson Chance Foundation, a non-profit in Chicagoland. She also enjoys traveling, and spending time with family, friends, and her beloved cat, Edwina.
