Castellano
Gladys M. Castellano has over 20 years of compliance experience and has held several managerial positions in the BSA/AML and Regulatory Consumer Compliance field including Chief Compliance Vice-President, BSA/OFAC Compliance Officer and currently BSA Manager at Banco Santander. Her industry experience includes oversight responsibility of Regulatory and AML Compliance, maintenance of a compliance program, policies and procedures. She received her bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Puerto Rico and her master degree in Finance from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico. To enhance her financial career she has completed the Puerto Rico Compliance Banking School, ABA Graduate School of Compliance Management and the ABA National Compliance School.
She has been a member of ACAMS since 2002 and obtained the prestigious CAMS certification in 2003. She is a frequent international speaker and moderator at ACAMS conferences in the US, Canada, Guatemala, and Mexico giving her the opportunity to share with international recognized leaders and experts in the AML field. She is also member of the Certified CAMS Instructor faculty and has conducted CAMS Live Preparation seminars since 2005 in Puerto Rico, Wisconsin, Barcelona, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. Since 2002 she has participated as member of several ACAMS Task forces such as ACAMS Annual Meeting Task Force, Caribbean Task Force, Education Task Force, Latin America Task Force, Adapted Spanish Examination Cut Score Task Force, and Editorial Task Force. While gaining significant exposure in the AML field, she published an article in the ACAMS TODAY magazine”A day in the life of a Compliance Officer” May/June 2007 edition and participated as editor of the”Study Guide for the CAMS Certification Examination” –Fourth Edition 2007 (Spanish version). She has also developed and delivered Regulatory compliance and BSA/AML training sessions for different financial institutions, International Banking Entity, CFE Puerto Rico Chapter, CCPA of Puerto Rico, and professional associations in Puerto Rico as well as requests by University students on related topics.
