Overview
On June 30, 2021 FinCEN announced the first set of government wide AML/CFT Priorities, as required by the AML Act of 2020. The eight national priorities included (1) Corruption; (2) Cybercrime, including cybersecurity and virtual currencies; (3) Foreign and domestic terrorist financing; (4) Fraud; (5) Transnational criminal organization activity; (6) Drug trafficking organization activity; (7) Human trafficking and human smuggling; and (8) Proliferation financing. Since announcing those priorities, there has been no clear guidance on what is expected from financial institutions as it relates to their AML/CFT program. Join us as we discuss with our panel of experts how their institutions have reacted to those priorities and what steps they have taken since they have been announced. Our experts will share tactical and strategic steps as well as best practices on what to do while waiting for additional guidance.
