When the scholarship recipient is ready to schedule the exam, you must complete the relevant application online. The application approval process takes 10-15 working days from the date you submit your application. Once the application has been approved, you will receive an exam authorization email that contains the following information:
- The exam authorization, which is valid within the scholarship period
- The authorization dates to book your exam
- A link to Pearson VUE, the platform you will use to book your exam (either online or at a testing center)
- To schedule the exam, please use the Exam Authorization Link provided to you in the exam authorization email. When registering for your exam, please ensure that you use the same email address that you submitted during the Scholarship application process. Incorrect details could result in access issues within the LMS and with Pearson VUE.
- On the exam scheduling platform, follow the prompts to select your preferred exam delivery method, date and time.
- Ensure you confirm your appointment to secure your exam slot, you will receive a confirmation email with the details of your appointment.
- You are required to schedule and take your exam within the Scholarship Period. To ensure ample time for a potential exam retake, we strongly recommend completing the first attempt at least three months before the expiration date.
Scholarship recipients have the option to request an extension for their exam if they are within the scholarship period. However, they must become certified within the scholarship period. Please submit the request with a valid reason and any necessary supporting documentation via our Contact Us form on our website
What are the next steps if I fail my Exam?Candidates who do not pass the exam on their first attempt can retake it after 30 days. ACAMS will only subsidize the cost of the first retake, if it is done within the Scholarship Period and/or within any approved extension period granted by ACAMS. The cost of subsequent retakes is to be borne by the recipient. For our retake policy and pricing, please refer to the candidate handbook.
What if I don't complete my Exam during the scholarship period?Failing to complete the exam during the scholarship period could result in the payment of appropriate fees and possible non-qualification of any additional programs that may be offered to the scholarship recipients. Scholarship recipients must have an active ACAMS membership to take the exam.
If the recipients have any issues, they should email scholarships@acams.org with a description of the issue and a copy of relevant previous correspondence to any of the support teams contacted.

What should I do if I had technical issues and can't reschedule my exam?If there is an issue during exam delivery, you can use the blue phone button in the recording window to request assistance.
If you get disconnected from the internet, inadvertently close your exam, or something similar that drops the connection, you will have up to one hour to resume the test, not to exceed four hours from the original start time.
