Evan Revak is an analyst at Thomson Reuters Special Services (TRSS), where he assists commercial clients navigate an ever-changing risk environment. In addition to assisting the commercial division, he has helped potential commercial clients understand TRSS’ offerings and provided them with research products tailored to their risk appetites and tolerances. Within the analysis department, Evan has provided mentorship on conducting open source research (OSINT) in numerous international jurisdictions from China to Malaysia, Brazil to Mexico, the Russia to Portugal, and South Africa to Egypt. Coupled with his Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification (June 2020), he has also developed an AML/CFT training program to help current and new analysts better understand the basics of identifying, alerting, and monitoring for money laundering and terrorist financing activities. Evan considers himself to be a research generalist, with an ability to adapt to client’s needs, requests, and requirements, and has language research capabilities in Russian, French, Spanish, German, Chinese, among others. Prior to TRSS, Evanworked as a contractor at the US Department of Treasury assisting on trade and tariff issues, and before that, as an analyst at boutique due diligence firm in northern Virginia. Evan received his MA in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University (Washington, DC) and his BA in International Relations from Mount Allison University (Sackville, NB).
