The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) is the global money laundering and terrorist financing watchdog which sets international standards that aims to prevent these illegal activities and the harm they cause to society.
In October 2021, despite some progress in implementing measures against financial crimes, the Philippines remains under a “grey” list of countries under increased monitoring for money laundering and terrorism financing risks. Although we are committed to the timely implementation of the remaining action plan items to address the deficiencies, it is good to hear from our esteemed guest from Mauritius on his experience on getting out of the “grey” list. Mauritius exited FATF Grey list in October 2021.
