How this change impacts you

  • Do I need to do anything?

If, based on your circumstances, you will be testing at a Pearson VUE center, you will need to fill out a new Test-Taker Authorization that provides us with permission to share necessary data with Pearson VUE. ACAMS will send out instructions for this the week of November 25.

Whether you need to take any other actions depends on your individual circumstances. The next series of questions will address these circumstances.

  • I have purchased a CAMS or CGSS package but have not yet applied and received a voucher code. How will this change impact me?

When you apply and your application is accepted, you will receive information on how to schedule your exam at a Pearson VUE center.

  • I have an unexpired CAMS voucher code for Kryterion but have not yet scheduled my exam. How will this change impact me?

You can use your voucher code to schedule an exam with Kryterion, as long as you use the voucher code before November 22, and schedule your exam to take place before December 31.

If you do not use your voucher code before November 22 to schedule your exam with Kryterion, your voucher code will be cancelled and we will send you an email with information on how to complete a new Test-Taker Agreement and schedule an exam with Pearson VUE.

  • I am scheduled to take my CAMS exam at a Kryterion Test Center prior to November 22, 2019. How will this change impact me?

You can go and take your exam as scheduled at the Kryterion Testing Center before November 22, 2019. You are not impacted by this change.

  • I am scheduled to take my CAMS exam at a Kryterion Test Center between November 18 and December 31, 2019. How does this change impact me?

You can go and take your exam as scheduled at the Kryterion Test Center before December 31, 2019. • I am scheduled to take my CAMS exam at a Kryterion Test Center between November 18, 2019 and December 31, 2019. However, there is a Pearson VUE center much closer to me. I would like to test at the Pearson VUE center. Can I?

Yes. If you would prefer to test at a Pearson VUE center after November 18, contact ACAMS customer service for your region: www.acams.org/contact.

Scheduling and testing process

  • What are the changes to the process for scheduling my CAMS exam?

Through November 15, 2019, we provided CAMS candidates with a voucher code after they purchased a CAMS package and submitted an application. Candidates then use that voucher code to schedule their CAMS exam on the Kryterion website.

As of November 18, 2019, we will no longer issue voucher codes. Instead, ACAMS will send eligible candidates’ names to Pearson VUE. You will then be able to schedule your test with Pearson VUE by logging on to the ACAMS website and accessing the exam scheduling system. This automation will make scheduling an exam simpler for candidates.

In order for this automation to work properly, it is very important that you ensure the name in ACAMS’ system matches exactly with your name as it appears on the government-issued identification you will present at the testing center. Click here to ensure we have your legal name.

  • Where are Pearson VUE Authorized Test Centers located?

Pearson VUE currently has more than 5,000 Pearson VUE Test Centers in more than 180 countries; including several hundred company-owned and operated Pearson Professional Centers. Candidates with access to military bases can test at on-base military test centers. You can find available test centers here.

  • What if there is no center in my area?

If there is no center available within 50 miles of your residence or work addresses, or if no center is available in your country, please contact us at www.acams.org/contact with that information. We may be able to offer alternative testing options.

  • Will the test fees change?

Your CAMS package includes the testing fee. No test center should be collecting fees from a candidate when you go to test.

However, there is an additional fee for scheduling an exam by phone rather than by using the online system. Pearson VUE call centers will answer questions for assisting with online scheduling free of charge. However, if the exam is scheduled on the phone, there will be a $20 fee collected by Pearson VUE.

If you cancel or reschedule an exam within 24 to 72 hours of your scheduled time, there will be a fee of US$100 collected by Pearson VUE.

If you cancel your exam within 24 hours or do not show up for your scheduled appointment, you will need to contact ACAMS and you will be charged for a new authorization (US$299 private sector/US$199 public sector).

  • What are the changes to the center testing process for CAMS candidates?

At Pearson VUE testing centers, in addition to the identification requirements, candidates will now be photographed and asked to provide a digital signature. The photograph and signature will become a permanent part of each candidate’s CAMS certification record. Photos taken during the admission process may be printed on score reports and all candidate data will be securely stored and protected by Pearson VUE. These requirements may be modified according to local laws

  • What are the benefits of capturing digital photos and signatures?

Digital photos and signatures are used to ensure that the person presenting the certification credential is the same individual who took the exam. This procedure helps to ensure that ACAMS’ certifications maintain their integrity and value within the marketplace.

  • How will candidate personal information be stored?

Both ACAMS and Pearson VUE employ rigorous measures to ensure data privacy. Although professional certification is a significant part of Pearson VUE’s business, the company also routinely delivers a variety of other high-stakes exams—everything from medical board licensing exams to the GMAT. The same methodologies used for the collection, encryption and storage of data for these programs are used for ACAMS’ certification programs. For additional information, each company’s Privacy Policy can be found here (ACAMS) and here (Pearson VUE).
