Overview
In February 2025, the U.S. State Department designated eight Latin American transnational criminal organizations as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs). In this session, our expert panel will take an in-depth look into the implications of this decision. They’ll discuss what the designation means, which sectors and industries these organizations are involved with, the controls that financial institutions and others should be implementing to mitigate the criminal and civil risks, and possible future U.S. policy on combatting these cartels.
