Vanessa is the Director of AML and Financial Crime Prevention at Securitize, where she leads the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance Program. With over 10 years of expertise in the AML Compliance field, she is dedicated to protecting Securitize from regulatory, operational, financial, and reputational risks.

Before her tenure at Securitize, Vanessa held various leadership roles in AML compliance. As Assistant Vice President for AML Risk at Morgan Stanley in New York City, she led a team of analysts in the on-boarding of wealth management and private banking clients. At State Street Financial in Boston, she served as an AML Business Consultant, spearheading Know-Your-Customer (KYC) remediation projects during the firm’s comprehensive AML compliance transformation.

Vanessa is a certified AML subject matter expert through ACAMS and has a strong track record in risk mitigation across complex financial environments. She earned her degree in Business Administration and International Business from the University of Rhode Island before moving to Boston where she embraced her passion for New England sports, becoming a devoted fan of Tom Brady and the Patriots during their Super Bowl victories.

A Rhode Island native, Vanessa’s passion for travel blossomed during her college years when she studied abroad in Spain. She now resides in sunny Miami, where she enjoys staying active, exploring the city, spending time with family and friends, and continuing her love for global travel.
