Blankley
Jeremi Blankley is the Resident Agent in Charge (RAC) for the Wilmington Office of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). RAC Blankley began his career as a police officer with the Winston-Salem Police Department in 1999 and became a Special Agent with the legacy United States Customs Service in 2003, which later became HSI. His first duty station was Savannah, Georgia, where he led multiple Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigations involving narcotic smuggling from Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean. In 2007 he was transferred to Charlotte, North Carolina, where he conducted financial, bulk cash, narcotics, and weapon smuggling investigations, which have successfully led to the seizure of millions in cash and the prosecution and dismantling of smuggling organizations throughout the Southeast. In addition to these responsibilities, RAC Blankley was also an active member of the SAR Review Team consisting of numerous federal agencies throughout the Western District of North Carolina. In 2020, RAC Blankley was promoted to Group Supervisor in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he was assigned to create the newly formed Narcotics and Bulk Cash Smuggling group. Utilizing a vast network, he grew the task force to seven Special Agents and twenty-nine Task Force Officers. In this capacity, RAC Blankley oversaw one of the largest money laundering OCDETF investigations ever conducted in the Eastern District of North Carolina that led to the seizure of millions in illicit proceeds, numerous farms, and millions in real estate. In 2022, RAC Blankley was promoted to the Resident Agent in Charge in Wilmington where he now supervises and is responsible for investigations covering the entire coastline of North Carolina that includes 24 counties. In this capacity, RAC Blankley oversees seven (7) Special Agents, numerous support staff, and eight-teen (18) Task Force Officers. RAC Blankley has recently been selected as a member of the Carolina ACAMS Board and is looking forward to serving in this capacity.
