Cannon
In May 2016, Mr. Jeffrey Cannon was appointed to Senior Executive Service as the chief of the Counterterrorism Division’s Terrorist Financing Operations Section (TFOS). In this capacity, Mr. Cannon lead U.S. law enforcement efforts to identify and defeat terrorists and their financial networks using investigative techniques which exploit financial intelligence. In February 2019, Mr. Cannon launched the Strategic Partner Engagement Section (SPES) building upon the FBI’s successes identifying and disrupting terrorist threats in partnership with the public and private sector both in the United States and abroad. Mr. Cannon continues to build the FBI’s Counterterrorism Consortium across multiple industries for the unified mission of proactively illuminating and disrupting threats through shared information.
Mr. Cannon entered on duty as a Special Agent with the FBI in March 1999. Since 1999, Mr. Cannon has served in several investigative and leadership roles within the U.S. and abroad. Beginning as an investigator on an Organized Crime/Drug Task Force and then a Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), Mr. Cannon went on to become a Counterterrorism supervisor at FBI Headquarters focusing on Terrorist Financing. In 2007, Mr. Cannon became the chief over nine FBI Attaché offices throughout the Middle East and Southeast Asia and then became an Attaché in Athens, Greece in 2009. In 2011, Mr. Cannon was promoted to supervise Violent Crime program in Tucson, Arizona and then appointed Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) of the FBI San Diego Division’s Counterterrorism, Cyber, and Counterintelligence missions. Mr. Cannon earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting before beginning his professional career with Ernst & Young LLP in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania prior to his career with the FBI.
