Overview
The ACAMS Netherlands Chapter will be hosting an in-person conference on “Preventing Fraud while Improving Customer Experience”.
In the post-covid era of digitization, fraud prevention has become increasingly important for financial institutions. The growing digitalization has moved majority of banking operations and transactions online, multiplying the risks and complexities associated with fraud. The digital revolution with a smartphone has significantly improved the financial inclusion, but at the same time, exponentially increased the fraud threats to the financial institutions.
The reputational risk is the largest risk posed to financial institutions due to fraud losses, followed by the money lost in the fraud. A bank’s reputation is closely tied to its ability to protect customer funds and data. Any association with fraud may result in customers losing confidence in its services, leading to a loss of business.
Financial institutions are responsible for protecting their customers' financial assets. Fraudulent activities can result in significant losses for both the customers and the bank. Ensuring strong fraud prevention measures helps maintain customer trust and secures their assets. Financial institutions are setting up a strong fraud prevention mechanism to protect customers from various types of frauds ranging from Identity theft, phishing, card fraud, account takeover, transaction (wire, check) fraud, insider trading, synthetic identity etc.
The fraud protection requires a real time response from bank and customer. Nowadays, banks are looking to improve the customer experience in the fraud prevention process by optimizing the use of available data. This event will analyze the various dimensions of fraud prevention at policy and technology level. The speakers will provide some real-life scenarios along with the techniques used by financial institutions and law enforcement for fraud prevention.
The following speakers will present their point of view at the event:
Jason Lane-Sellers, Director, Fraud & Identity EMEA of LexisNexis Risk Solutions, will discuss the use of technology to identify, detect and prevent fraud. It is also important to improve the customer experience by minimizing the customer interaction points during the process.
Fouad Tbib, Head of Risk and Fraud Prevention EMEA at Adyen will speak about the smoothening customer experience of merchants as well as end customers while preventing the fraud.
Pratik Choudhary Business Development Manager for Europe North at LexisNexis focusing on Fraud, will discuss the synergies across risk and compliance departments (such as AML) for a collaborative approach to identify the fraud typologies and risk indicators pre-emptively.
