Pantelidis
Gigi has over 25 years of Internal Audit experience that spans across four large financial institutions. Currently she is Audit Director of Financial Crimes at Wells Fargo. In this role, she is responsible for the strategic direction, scoping, and execution of BSA/AML, Sanctions, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption audit programs for Independent Risk Management within the second line of defense and for the Wealth and Investment Management portfolio. Gigi is also responsible for reporting, regulatory interactions, methodology, training and the data analytics team. Recently, she was appointed as the co-chair of Internal Audit’s Diversity & Inclusion Council.
Previously, Gigi was an Audit Director of the AML Compliance Know Your Customer (KYC) team at Citibank, as well as previously held a Senior Manager role leading the AML Consent Order Validation team. In these roles, she led AML Program Audits of the Consumer and Commercial Bank, Global KYC Audits and Global Regulatory Validations for KYC and Transaction Monitoring. In addition, she worked on global efforts to bring consistency to AML work performed by all audit teams, through her KYC Center of Excellence role.
Gigi started her career at JPMorgan Chase, followed by time with BNY Mellon. Her roles at both companies were in internal audit, within Investment Bank Capital Markets and Broker-Dealer Compliance. She was Group Manager of the AML Global Functions team, responsible for audit coverage of legal, compliance, AML, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, and Ethics & Culture.
Gigi is an avid volunteer with the New York Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), most recently serving as the co-chair of their Financial Services Conference. She has been a panelist of the IIA’s Financial Services Exchange Conference on Financial Crimes and the IIA NY Chapter Women’s Conference on Negotiating Skills. In October 2020, she received the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMs) AML Professional of the Year Award for her leadership in the AML arena.
