Overview
The ACAMS Australasian Chapter developed an Environmental Crimes Report to support members in addressing not only the illegal wildlife trade but also illegal fishing, logging, and waste disposal.
These activities pose significant threats to environmental and financial crime. The report provides operational-level guidance to financial institutions, offering detailed due diligence checklists to assess customer legitimacy, beneficial ownership, financial health, regulatory compliance, and reputational risks. It includes tailored red flags and CDD tools for each crime type, with a focus on cross-border risks and complex supply chains.
This resource enables institutions to integrate environmental crime risks into AML frameworks, align compliance programs with sustainability objectives, and enhance their ability to detect and disrupt illicit financial flows tied to environmental harm.
The webinar is for ACAMS members only. Capacity is limited, available on a first come first serve basis.
