Laura Steer

Laura Steer is Head of Enterprise Risk Management, HSBC Singapore and is responsible for ensuring adherence to the standards for managing operational and resilience risks. Her remit also includes oversight of the Risk Strategy and Data Protection Officer functions, as well as the build out of the wider Enterprise Risk Management capability in Singapore, ensuring that we have a single holistic, portfolio view of the most significant risks across the organisation – with a particular focus on technology and cyber security, data, third party, change execution, transaction processing and overall operational resilience. 

Part of the HSBC International Manager programme, Laura has held a number of leadership positions in the HSBC Group covering Risk, Compliance, Corporate Banking and Transformation across the UK, Middle East and Asia Pacific, including Chief Risk Officer and Executive Board Director for HSBC Mauritius. 

Laura holds a Bachelors Degree in Modern Languages and Linguistics from the University of Oxford and a Masters Degree in International Management from the Henley Business School.
