Robert Skidmore, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Assistant Attaché in Singapore, leads HSI’s investigative efforts related to crimes involving the financial system, global trade and counter-proliferation in the area. Before his assignment to Singapore, Assistant Attaché Skidmore was assigned to Houston, TX, where he led investigations of transnational criminal organizations involved in money laundering, counter-proliferation, and trafficking counterfeit and stolen goods. He was also previously assigned to San Francisco, CA, where he began his career with HSI. Assistant Attaché Skidmore also led and developed Operation Boiling Point (OBP), HSI’s initiative targeting organized theft groups profiting from the stolen goods trade. As part of OBP, HSI and ACAMS published a joint report entitled, “Detecting and Reporting the Illicit Financial Flows Tied to Organized Theft Groups (OTG) and Organized Retail Crime (ORC),” to assist banking institutions and related entities with understanding and identifying this particular risk.
