David Zacks

David Zacks is Deputy Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Product Compliance at Kraken Digital Asset Exchange. He leads global product compliance and drives strategic alignment between compliance and product development to support Kraken’s growth in an evolving regulatory landscape. 

Previously, David led Kraken’s global compliance operations, spanning Customer and Enhanced Due Diligence, Financial Intelligence, Law Enforcement Response, Trade Surveillance, NFT Compliance, and Sanctions. He also oversaw compliance strategy and technology, scaling infrastructure to meet the demands of a global platform. 

Before joining Kraken, David served as Head of Legal, Compliance, and Risk at bitFlyer USA, and held senior roles at Airbnb, JPMorgan Chase, and the U.S. Department of the Treasury (FinCEN). He brings more than 15 years of experience building and transforming compliance programs across both traditional financial institutions and high-growth crypto firms. 

David holds a B.A. in Political Science and International Studies from California Lutheran University and an M.A. in International Policy Studies from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.
