Former Member, UNSCR 1874 (North Korea) Panel of Experts
Ms. Takeuchi has 20 years of experience in national security and non-proliferation. She has served for the United Nations Security Council as a member of the Panel of Experts (UNSCR 1874 Panel of Experts) for North Korea for five years (2016-2021). Before joining the UN, she served the Ministry of Defense for 15 years as policy official in various areas including cyber security strategy and strategic trade control. She was also appointed as First Secretary in political section in Japanese Embassy in Seoul. She has written number of articles on effective implementation of sanctions.
Ms. Takeuchi holds a Master’s degree in Regional Studies East Asia from Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Tokyo.
