Denomme
David has been in his current role at BMO for four years and was previously Associate General Counsel, Commercial, serving BMO’s Canadian Personal & Commercial Banking business. He became involved with BMO’s work with the legal Canadian cannabis industry shortly after Health Canada’s licensing of commercial producers and has advised all segments of BMO Financial Group on emerging issues since Canadian legalization.
David is a graduate of the University of Toronto (B.Sc., LL.B.) and was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1991. He practiced corporate and commercial law with an emphasis on secured transactions in two Toronto law firms, and has now been an in-house lawyer for 25 years, primarily in the financial services industry. He is a published author, a member of the Personal Property Security Law Committee of the Ontario Bar Association’s Business Law Section, a fellow of the American Conference of Commercial Finance Lawyers, and has taught as instructor and adjunct faculty member at the faculties of law of the University of Toronto and the University of Windsor.
