Aguilar
Raul O. Aguilar currently serves as the Deputy Assistant Director for Homeland Security Investigations, Transnational Organized Crime Division 1 in Washington, DC. In this capacity, Mr. Aguilar has oversight of HSI’s portfolio in Illicit Finance and Proceeds of Crime Unit, Bulk Cash Smuggling Center, Contraband Smuggling, Worksite Enforcement, and Identify Benefit Fraud. Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Aguilar served as the HSI Deputy Special Agent in Charge for HSI Baltimore, MD. Mr. Aguilar also severed as the HSI Deputy Special Agent in Charge at the Department of Justice, Special Operations Division in Chantilly, VA. Mr. Aguilar was stationed overseas as the DHS-HSI Attaché for the Southern Cone of the Americas based in Buenos Aires, Argentina covering Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Chile. Mr. Aguilar previously was the Operations Chief of the Mexico Division for Homeland Security Investigations Office of International Affairs in Washington, DC. Mr. Aguilar also served in Mexico, as an Assistant Attaché and in El Centro, CA, as a special agent.
Mr. Aguilar has been a criminal investigator for over 23 years, initially with the Department of the Treasury, U.S. Customs Service and its successor agency, ICE Homeland Security Investigations. Mr. Aguilar received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of San Diego.
