Annan
Nick Annan currently serves as Truist Financial Corporation’s (Truist) head of Corporate Investigations and Financial Intelligence Unit. In this capacity, Mr. Annan has oversight of approximately 500 personnel, comprised mainly of investigators and analyst focusing on Internal and External Investigations as well as AML and BSA Operations.
Prior to joining Truist, Mr. Annan served over 25 years with Homeland Security Investigations. Mr. Annan’s career culminated with his service as the Assistant Director with oversight of all Domestic Operations for HSI. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Annan served as the Special Agent in Charge for Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in Atlanta, Georgia, where he had oversight of the HSI Atlanta area of responsibility, which includes 8 offices in the states of Georgia, North and South Carolina and Alabama. He oversaw a diverse cadre of federal agents, intelligence analysts, and professional administrative staff. He also oversees a number of HSI-led multiagency tasks forces, which include state, local and federal law enforcement members working together to target cross-border criminal organizations that exploit the legitimate travel, commercial trade and financial systems. Mr. Annan also served in a number of field and headquarters leadership positions. Including: Director of the Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center (IPRCC), and Chief of Staff to the director of HSI.
Mr. Annan began his law enforcement career in 1997 with the U.S. Customs Service in San Diego, CA. Mr. Annan graduated as a Scholar-Athlete award recipient from the University of Maryland where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.
