Michael
Sallah
Michael Sallah is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author who has worked on the investigations teams of The Washington Post, The Miami Herald and USA TODAY on stories ranging from public corruption and police abuses to global money laundering. He was awarded the Pulitzer in 2004 for stories that exposed the longest series of atrocities in the Vietnam War and subsequent cover up by the Pentagon. He was among the lead reporters on a project by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) and BuzzFeed News that revealed the role of global banks in moving billions of dollars in dirty money for Ponzi schemers, drug traffickers and corrupt foreign leaders -- and little effort by the U.S. government to stop it. The FinCEN Files project was recognized as a finalist for the 2021 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting.
