Michael Grossman is a Director within the Global Consumer Bank’s, AML Compliance Risk Management group. Michael is responsible for providing support to the US retail, small business and commercial customer segments to enable enterprise-wide compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and all global and regional anti-money laundering rules and regulations.
In addition, Michael also provides governance and oversight in support of Citibank’s currency transactions reporting obligations. Prior to joining Citibank, Michael worked for Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. as a Regional Senior Compliance Officer responsible for providing AML-related compliance support to the U.S. portfolio of financial institution clients within Wells Fargo’s Global Financial Institutions Group.
Michael has also assisted in the development and completion of comprehensive AML risk assessment of retail, small business and wealth management lines of business that included the identification of assessing inherent risk, evaluating controls, determining residual risk and implementing additional risk mitigation processes.
Michael has led the preparation for numerous BSA supervisory exams, internal audits and routinely provides guidance to transaction surveillance analysts concerning new and existing high profile client investigations.
Michael earned a degree in economics from Illinois State University and an MBA from DePaul University and is a certificated Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist and Certified Fraud Examiner.
