Tyree
David Tyree is the Resident Agent in Charge for the DEA in the State of Wyoming. Mr. Tyree was hired by the DEA in September of 1998. He was first assigned to the Albuquerque, New Mexico District Office after graduating from the DEA Academy in January of 1999. Mr. Tyree transferred to the Portland, Oregon District Office in July of 2004. In 2013, Mr. Tyree became the Assistant Country Attaché to the U.S. Ambassador in Portugal and Cape Verde, Africa where he worked with several countries in Europe and West Africa combatting drug trafficking. In June of 2016, Mr. Tyree returned to the United States as an agent, assigned to the Cheyenne Resident Office. In 2017, Mr. Tyree promoted to Resident Agent in Charge of Wyoming.
Mr. Tyree has extensive experience in poly-drug investigations, long-term undercover operations, drug interdiction and money laundering and financial investigations, and has participated in the seizure of over ten million dollars in drug proceeds in his tenure with the DEA. Mr. Tyree instructs for the DEA regarding financial investigative techniques and how to conduct money laundering investigations. Mr. Tyree has provided this training in both Europe and Africa. For his successful investigations, Mr. Tyree has received recognition from the DEA, the United States Attorney's Office, and various international narcotics organizations.
Mr. Tyree is an Oregon native with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Oregon. He has been married for 24 years and is the proud father of three beautiful children.
