Cesare is an associate professor of finance at the University of Texas at Austin, where he leads the Blockchain Initiative and the Fintech Research Lab. Recently, Cesare was a member of the State of Texas Work Group on Blockchain Matters, and on academic leave as the chief economist of the Coinbase Institute. His primary research interests are in blockchain, financial technology, and corporate finance. He teaches courses on fintech to graduate and undergrad students, corporate finance and valuation to MBA students, and empirical corporate finance to PhD students. Cesare holds bachelor and master degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano (Italy), and an MBA and PhD in Finance from UCLA Anderson.
