McCormick
As an AML Project Manager at SoFi and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Carin currently leads the full project lifecycle of key initiatives within the Enterprise AML Department, focusing on the development and enhancement of controls for new product offerings, transformational projects, and remediation efforts. In this role, she leverages a strong grasp of AML regulations, risk management, and project management methodologies, coupled with effective collaboration across various business units. Prior to joining SoFi, Carin dedicated over 19 years to Western Union, where she managed the Government Sanctions and Interdiction team. In this capacity, she oversaw the compliance screening process and the creation of their internal interdiction list, playing a vital role in protecting customers and the brand.
Earning her CAMS certification in 2012, Carin is deeply committed to finding practical solutions that address AML risks while maintaining a positive customer experience. Inspired by her engagement in past ACAMS Colorado Chapter events, Carin now serves as the Secretary for the Chapter and is enthusiastic about contributing her extensive AML and project management experience, along with her "Can Do" attitude and diverse educational background (including degrees in Environmental Health and Elementary Education), to the Chapter's leadership.
