Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) Kevin Bess currently serves as Group Supervisor of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Caribbean Division Financial Investigative Team based in San Juan, Puerto Rico.   His primary role as a DEA Special Agent/Criminal Investigator is to conduct investigations of international drug trafficking conspiracies and the laundering of illicit drug proceeds.  SSA Bess began his career with the DEA in 2006, and he has served in DEA Caribbean Division posts of duty in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico for a total of 13 years, in addition to his previous posts of duty in McAllen, Texas and Orlando, Florida.

Prior to his employment with DEA, SSA Bess served as a Cryptologic Linguist (Mandarin & Spanish) in the U.S. Army 142nd Military Intelligence Battalion for nine years, earning the rank of Sergeant First Class.  SSA Bess served in Iraq from 2003-2004 as a member of the Iraq Survey Group, the joint coalition forces organization formed to investigate alleged Iraqi weapons of mass destruction programs.
