Mateo Arbelaez

Mateo Arbelaez leads Mastercard’s Legal Compliance Risk Management team where he is responsible leading efforts to elevate the global Compliance's Quality Assurance program, strengthening Risk Management protocols, champion transformative initiatives, and foster innovation within our Global Compliance organization. Prior this role, Mateo led Mastercard’s Financial Intelligence Unit where he was responsible the development and operationalization of the AML transaction monitoring program. Mateo is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Global Sanctions Specialist (CGSS), and has over 12 years of experience in compliance, data analytics, risk management, and payments/banking.

Mateo holds a Master of Applied Data Science degree from Syracuse University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Data Analytics from the University of Connecticut School of Business.
