Dr. Reem Mohammed Alshamsi

Dr Reem has ten years of professional experience in international financial relations and financial crime prevention. She is the director of the research and strategic analysis section at the UAEFIU, where she works on producing different typology reports, white papers, and other strategic review papers and studies. Prior to the FIU, she was Head of the Exchange of Tax Information Unit at the UAE Ministry of Finance. Dr Reem has a PhD in Combatting the Financing of Terrorism from the University of Birmingham, UK. She also holds a Master of Diplomacy and International Affairs degree and a Bachelor of Accounting and Business degree.
