Brian O’Toole

Brian O’Toole is the Senior Vice President and Director of Sanctions and Screening at Truist Financial Corporation, where he oversees sanctions compliance and list-based screening efforts for the bank and across the institution’s several dozen lines of business. He is also a nonresident senior fellow with the Atlantic Council’s Global Business and Economics program and part of the Council’s Economic Sanctions Initiative. Prior to BB&T, Mr. O’Toole was the Senior Advisor to the Director of OFAC, where he served in a chief-of-staff role overseeing and managing all of OFAC’s economic and financial sanctions. He holds a BA from Princeton University and an MA from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and lives and works in Raleigh, NC.
