On June 30, 2021, FinCEN issued the First National AML/CFT Priorities. Two of those priorities were domestic and international terrorist financing (TF) and proliferation financing (PF). What exactly is TF and PF? The session will cover TF using Afghanistan as a recent example and an ongoing threat. Sources and uses of funds as well as monitoring red flags specific to TF will be provided. The second half of the session will cover PF and include what it is, why it is important, and specific red flags to use in your Customer Due Diligence and Enhanced Due Diligence reviews.
