Overview
The intersection between sanctions, geopolitics, and controls over exports and investments and financial crime is more complex than ever, and can create huge challenges for AFC professionals and compliance frameworks. With 2024 being dubbed the ‘year of elections’, there are perhaps none as impactful on the global landscape as the U.S. Presidential Election – the results of which are likely to carry huge implications for the AFC community.
Will we see a change in approach to U.S. sanctions, and if so, which regimes? How will global trade and geopolitical relationships be impacted? How should we, as AFC professionals, be thinking about equipping ourselves for 2025?
Kindly hosted by Morrison Foerster, this UK Chapter event will feature speakers John Smith and Brandon Van Grack, co-chairs of Morrison Foerster’s National Security Practice, and Samar Pratt, Capgemini with moderator Justine Walker, ACAMS; Global Head of Sanctions, Compliance and Risk and the rest of the senior MoFo global national security team discussing their predictions for 2025 global sanctions and national security priorities.
