Since retiring from the FBI 2018, Dale has been an independent consultant to Fortune 100 companies. Currently, he is a Senior Consultant in GDR’s Insider Threat and Intellectual Property Practices. In these roles he assists clients in the assessment or enterprise-wide employee risk/insider threat programs and designing implementation roadmaps for success. His work spans from the enterprise level to in-depth work advising on the behavioral indicators and risk model designs for insider threat systems. Dale also supports investigations into corporate malfeasance, compliance, and other regulatory issues as well as GRD’s testifying experts in the assessment of intellectual property protections involved in litigation matters.
Dale attended the FBI Academy. In 2006, he transferred to FBI Headquarters, working primarily in the exploitation of bulk data to assist in countering terrorism for seven years. In 2014, he was appointed to the Senior Executive Service and charged with building the FBI’s Insider Threat Program from the ground up, utilizing his expertise in the operational application of bulk data to build the best Insider Threat Program in the U.S. Government. Dale’s expertise in operational data exploitation was regularly relied upon by senior executives to represent the FBI with the White House and other government and non-government agencies. Notably, in 2014 Dale represented the FBI at the White House Big Data and Privacy Working Group and in 2016 at the National Public Safety Telecommunications Council regarding the Internet of Things and its potential uses during major natural disasters and national emergencies.
