Anthony Castellanos is a Special Agent (SA) for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Attaché Rome, Italy office. Previous to his assignment to Rome, his primary duties included digital forensic examinations and cybercrime investigations. SA Castellanos is a Computer Forensics Agent (CFA) as certified by the HSI Cyber Crimes Center (C3) since 2016. Additionally, SA Castellanos was the co-case agent on an undercover operation investigating individuals who sell live-streaming webcam shows involving the sexual abuse and exploitation of children to paying customers worldwide. During his tenure, the operation infiltrated and arrested 19 international child sex traffickers and rescued 83 children. Furthermore, investigative efforts resulted in 259 investigative referrals to 30 countries and the arrest of 55 live-streaming paying customers worldwide. SA Castellanos began his HSI career in 2007. In 2015, SA Castellanos transferred to the HSI Special Agent in Charge, San Diego office.

Throughout his HSI career, SA Castellanos investigated an array of programmatic crime types, to include: narcotics smuggling, money laundering, financial fraud, intellectual property theft, and child exploitation investigations. In furtherance of these cases, SA Castellanos traveled to Europe, South America, and Asia. SA Castellanos recognizes the importance of enhancing working relationships with foreign counterparts and establishing partnerships with private and public entities.SA Castellanos holds a Bachelor's degree in Management of Science and a Minor in Law & Society from the University of California, San Diego.
