Supervisory Senior Resident Agent (SSRA) Chris Gianakura leads the Lowell RA in investigating anti-money laundering, Complex Financial Crimes, Corporate and Securities Fraud, Public Corruption, Counter Terrorism, Violent Crimes Against Children, crypto currency related frauds, and Transnational Organized Crime.

SSRA Gianakura started his career with the FBI as a Special Agent (SA) in Boston in 2004, as a member of the Public Corruption, Complex Financial Crimes and Counter-Terrorism Squads. From January 2015 through August 2016, he was a Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) at FBI HQ at the International Corruption Unit in Washington, D.C. where had oversight of the FBI’s foreign bribery program and he was lead program manager of the international money laundering facilitation program.

SSRA Gianakura received the Attorney General Award for Distinguished Service for the discovery and initiation of the College Admission Scandal investigation.
