Ali Bennett

Ali Bennett has spent her entire career focused on Risk within all three lines of defense, four lines if you count her time at Deloitte in external audit.  Ali is currently the Director of Enterprise Product Risk & Operations at PayPal focused on understanding our inherent risk as a business from the enterprise products we offer in the market in order to decrease our overall risk exposure.  This involves understanding how we can leverage technology to reduce residual risk and simplify our control environment for economies of scale. Ali focuses primarily on risk and compliance operations such as Onboarding, Transaction Monitoring, Fraud Monitoring and Network Compliance. Prior to taking on this role, Ali led a team of Business Risk & Control Lead’s in PayPal’s first line of defense focused on identifying risk and controls for new merchant product launches and developing risk assessments.  Key areas of focus included CIP, Sanctions, Transaction Monitoring, Operations and Network Compliance.  Ali was also the Risk & Compliance Officer within the Second Line of Defense for PayPal’s merchant business.  Prior to joining PayPal, Ali was at U.S. Bank as an Audit Manager over their Payments business (Elavon). Ali joined the Twin Cities ACAMS chapter in 2021 and is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS). Outside of work, Ali coaches youth soccer and is an avid runner currently training for her first marathon!
