Sara is a BVI and Cayman Islands Partner currently based in Mourant's Cayman Islands office. Sara has significant experience with both Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands regulatory matters and leads Mourant's Caribbean Regulatory team. Her areas of expertise include AML/CFT/CPF and financial sanctions law and compliance, AEOI regimes (including the Common Reporting Standard and FATCA), beneficial ownership, data protection and economic substance, as well as advising regulated vehicles on licensing/registration applications, changes of control, ongoing compliance with regulatory regimes, inspections and enforcement matters. Prior to specializing in regulatory law, Sara's offshore practice focused on investment funds (both hedge funds and private equity), as well as general corporate law and structured finance transactions. Prior to joining Mourant in 2016, she worked for another offshore law firm for nine years in both their London and Cayman Islands offices, and before that trained at Nabarro Nathanson (now CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP) in London. Sara is the Secretary, and sits on the Executive Committee, of AIMA Cayman.
