Masterclass: Mastering the Essentials to be a Future BSA Officer or MLRO

Caryn is the Regional Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Director – APAC for ACAMS, where she is the lead English speaking SME practitioner on AML and Financial Crime Compliance across the APAC region. Working closely with APAC and international colleagues, Caryn plays a key role in shaping ACAMS priorities, offerings, and activities across the APAC region.

Caryn brings to ACAMS a wealth of AFC global banking experience that spans Standard Chartered, JP Morgan, Clearstream Banking, UBS AG, ABN Amro and Bank of America. Most recently she was the Head of Financial Crime Compliance Controls, Surveillance Excellence with Standard Chartered Bank, where she was responsible for the end to end process, governance, and risk management of the group wide alert disposition process. Caryn’s expertise covers Client Due Diligence, financial crime business advisory, project management, governance, risk management, and the overarching financial crime compliance framework.

Anu is a seasoned Compliance professional, having spent over 18 years in FinTech and Capital Markets companies in compliance roles predominantly. She started her career with Ernst and Young and then moved onto work for large MNCs such as Prudential Plc and Quilter Plc in Compliance supporting their wealth management businesses in Singapore and APAC. She then switched over to work for FinTech companies such as Swissquote and Revolut. She is currently the Singapore Chief Compliance Officer and MLRO for Coinbase which is a market leader in the crypto space. In her current and previous roles, she has worked on multiple regulatory license applications, designed robust Compliance Programs for these companies to help them comply with local regulations and fulfilled the role of Money Laundering Reporting Officer.

Anu is passionate about using technology to solve problems. She takes a keen interest in the evolving nature of financial markets and the growth fueled by FinTech companies.
