Francesco Monini is a Managing Director at Protiviti’s Milan office. In Protiviti Italy since 2005, he enhanced his previous professional experience in Risk & Controls activities in Citigroup, by coordinating Compliance, Audit and Organization projects in the Financial Services area.
With a solid experience in consulting services, he supports numerous Italian and international realities in the management of projects concerning the analysis, design and implementation of organization, management and control models, set up of Compliance, Anti Financial Crima, Internal Audit and Risk Management functions, as well as the design and delivery of numerous classroom training on Compliance and Anti Financial Crime:
- Assessment of the Anti Financial Crime Framework at leading companies operating in the financial sector, to identify gaps with respect to external regulations and market best practices, and suggest areas for improvement
- Design of innovative AML frameworks in the context of digital transformation projects aimed at rationalizing and making operational processes of banks, insurance and asset management companies more efficient, also through the implementation of high-tech services, by supporting the choice of adequate IT support tools, the IT system integration (Front to Back Office), and the definition of the underlying logics (and algorithms), in compliance with current regulations
- Analysis, design and implementation of organization, management and control models for the purposes of compliance with Legislative Decree no. 231/2001 for investment banks, companies of one of the main Italian banking groups, and for some financial intermediaries and asset management companies
- Support to national banks and payment institutions in carrying out audits (AML, Market Abuse, SOX, Law 231/2001); in particular review of the requirements of specific processes (credit management, cash pooling and FSCP processes) of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act for a leading Italian bank
- Analysis of the organizational and operational impacts generated by the introduction of new regulatory requirements, as well as analysis and evaluation of the internal control system (for example, with a focus on credit processes and investment services of structured financial products), and of the internal regulatory framework (for example, in the anti-corruption area)
- Support in the set-up of Compliance, Internal Audit and Risk Management functions
