Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Supervisory Special Agent Joseph Spielman has over 15 years of law enforcement experience. In his career he has investigated Trade Based Money Laundering (TBML), Commercial Fraud, and Money Laundering activities of Transnational Criminal Organizations operating throughout the world. Special Agent Spielman currently serves as the Section Chief for the Trade Transparency Unit (TTU), which supports HSI TBML investigations by engaging with the 19 TTU partner countries in the exchange of trade data used to identify anomalies indicative of TBML activity. Special Agent Spielman is also responsible for the identification and recruiting of new TTU partner countries into the program. Special Agent Spielman received his CAMS certification in 2020 and is a member of the ACAMS Twin City Chapter.
