ACAMS South Florida Chapter January 2026 Virtual Event: Advancing Fraud Prevention: Strategies for a Safer Financial Ecosystem

Erin Borg (Thiemann) is the Associate Director of Inclusive Financial System at the Aspen Institute Financial Security Program. She leads efforts to create a financial system that enables all individuals to access, utilize, and benefit from financial services. Guided by the belief that such systems are essential for fostering financial stability, resilience, and long-term security—particularly for vulnerable households—Erin’s work focuses on addressing structural barriers that perpetuate wealth disparities. She is committed to engaging cross-sector leaders and facilitating transformative collaborations among public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

Erin began her career in municipal government at the Office of Financial Empowerment in St. Louis, MO, where she honed her skills in addressing financial challenges at the local level. Prior to her current role, she served as a technical assistance strategist at Prosperity Now (formerly CFED), where she played a pivotal role in empowering organizations to drive meaningful change in households’ financial security.

Erin holds a Master of Social Work from the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis and a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University. She is a proud AmeriCorps alum and resides in the D.C. area.

Kim Grey is a Senior Manager and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) in the Financial Crimes Consulting Practice at Crowe LLP, where she has built her career over the past 19 years. She brings more than 22 years of experience in fraud risk management, BSA/AML, credit risk, and regulatory compliance. Kim leads multidisciplinary teams in delivering financial crime consulting and testing services that support financial institutions in strengthening controls, preventing and detecting fraud and money laundering, and identifying, escalating, and reporting potentially suspicious activity.
