What if I can’t complete my application because I don’t have enough credits?
ACAMS requires you to demonstrate that you have kept up your industry knowledge to recertify. Your recertification will only be approved once you have earned the required credits. ACAMS offers a variety of options over the 3-year period to help you meet the requirement and earn credits.
You can earn credits by:
- Completing online ACAMS training, including certificate courses or webinars.
- Attending ACAMS events, such as conferences, seminars, or chapter events.
- Maintaining active ACAMS membership.
Confirm that all courses you subscribed to after your certification date are marked as completed in the Learning Management System (LMS), as only completed learning paths count toward credits. Once you’ve earned the required credits:
- Return to your account.
- Update your application and submit it for review.
I’ve already paid but was unable to meet the credit requirements by the final due date. What happens now?
Don’t give up! Earning the required credits isn’t difficult, especially as an AML professional. Remember the effort you put into passing the exam—don’t let your hard-earned designation lapse.
Due to extenuating circumstances, If, you cannot earn the required credits by March 31 of the next year you are due, (the final due date), you may be eligible for an extension – see the Candidate Handbook on the certification page for details.
- Contact ACAMS Customer Service
- Include your full name, member ID, and payment confirmation
